- Be Prepared and Be Organized: come to class with your homework completed, a pen and notebook to take notes, and an open mind and willingness to get involved.
- Be an Active and Constructive Participant: always be willing to share your opinions, ask questions, or challenge ideas presented by your peers or teacher. It is also important that you respect the ideas and opinions of others.
- Be On Time: when you hand in homework, come to class, or schedule an appointment to meet with me. Lateness will be penalized with a lowering of a grade on a homework assignment, term effort mark, and/or term letter grade.
- Check Your SEM Email Regularly: check it for messages from Catie Kersey that may contain a change in a homework assignment, more information about a reading, or what you should bring to class the following day. You will also get information about upcoming events on campus and other fun stuff.
- Ask for Help and Communicate: Ask for help before you get in a bind, are feeling overwhelmed or don’t understand an assignment. Also, let the class know about upcoming important/fun events that you are involved in. When possible, please talk with me about scheduling a conference – we can meet during the day as well as after school – so I can make sure I will be in my office to meet.
